More Than 100 People Arrested During Bonnaroo’s First Day

Police overseeing Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee reported over 100 arrests on Thursday, less than one day into the music festival. A spokesperson for the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office said that a majority of the arrests stemmed from public intoxication, disorderly conduct, illegal drug use and possession of controlled substances like LSD and Molly. No medical emergencies have been reported as of this evening.

Local police department ad highway patrols will continue to patrol the farm grounds, where approximately 100,000 attendees will continue the festivities during the weekend.

According to a report by The Tennessean, the number of arrests has increased during both of the previous two years, with 76 in 2015 and 60 in 2014. However, 100 before the first day is up is clearly a significant increase over either of the previous two years.
