Earlier on Friday, Germany’s Rock am Ring Festival was suspended for five hours in the afternoon following a huge thunderstorm that injured 71 people.
Headlined by The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Sabbath & even Major Lazer, Rock am Ring Festival’s 31st year drew over 90,000 fans to Mendig Airport who were ready to rock and roll before the unfortunate turn in the weather.
Festival spokeswomen Katharina Wenisch said that organizers have no plans to cancel the festival just yet, despite urging festival-goers to seek shelter following a second thunderstorm. The festival has since been canceled. It seems to coincide with poor weather more regularly than we thought, as German media pointed out that 33 people had been injured by lightning strikes at Rock am Ring last year. 
According to the German Red Cross, of the 71 injured people, eight had were hospitalized with only one in serious condition. In the video from the festival live-stream you can see lightning strike at approximately 8:29 after announcing a weather delay. Additional amateur video below.
