UZ Drops Six-Track EP On New Record Label [Stream]

Record label Quality Goods Records was born in April of 2016 to a proud father, trap producer UZ, and quickly said its first word in the form of a 20-minute minimix chock full of IDs. Today, we’re finally seeing the infant label take its first steps with the release of UZ’s powerful, six-track Magellan EP – and boy, is it something.

The EP is saturated with collaborations and features from some of the most acclaimed up and comers in the bass music circuit. BIG MAKK, ATLiens, BeazyTymes and vocalist The Rej3ctz all make an appearance, lending their own brands of unique production style and flow to the deadly and high octane trap creations.

It begins with the EP’s title track “Magellan,” a wonky trap heater saturated with warped bell hits and abrasive percussion, before verging into the relentless and stuttering “Ash It” with BeazyTymes. “Yallah” features an enticing, Eastern scale and jangling percussive strikes that make up the main melody. Next, “Xanny Man” comes as the EP’s only straightforward hip hop track, featuring vocals from The Rej3ctz. Finally, ATLiens helps create a dark and twisted, nearly dubstep-influenced heater called “Cavern” before UZ ends things with BIG MAKK in a more laidback and simplified swayer, “Spank.”
