Felix Jaehn vs. Hitimpulse – Cut the Cord

Since his emergence onto the scene with his spectacular remix of OMI’s “Cheerleader” that thrust him into the spotlight as an international superstar, Felix Jaehn has quickly risen through the ranks to become one of melodic house’s most talented stars. Armed with vast music experience as a classically trained violinist and years as a stand-out DJ behind the decks, the German youngster has dazzled with tracks like his take on “Ain’t Nobody” featuring Jasmine Thompson, and his self-titled Felix Jaehn EP that was released at the beginning of 2016. In recent months, Jaehn has really been pushing the envelope with his production, first teaming up with Steve Aoki and Adam Lambert on “Can’t Go Home,” his most pop-leaning release to date, and now, joining forces with his fellow countryman, Hitimupulse, on “Cut the Chord.”

Felix Jaehn’s most recent release is a clear departure from the sun-soaked melodies and summer-ready vibes that came to define his early productions, but it showcases a new side to the producer’s immense talents. The track is driven by a strong vocal performance laid over a hauntingly beautiful piano melody that eventually builds into a crescendo of heavy-hitting breakbeat and catchy bass stabs.
