Buygore’s adds a new face to their ever expanding presence in the bass music world. Their latest comes from up and coming LA duo TastyTreat, comprised of John Smith and Devin Hardy, with their Wayward EP. The three track EP dives into a world of soul crushing drops, soulful yet dark hip hop vocals, and huge releases of tension, creating a soundscape that reminds us what bass music is all about.
The favorite track of the EP would have to be “My Crew” featuring vocal work from Malcolm Anthony, a prominent hip hop vocalist and frontman of electronic / hip hop group, K Theory. The midtempo trap banger leads into an R&B style breakdown with Anthony’s soulful vocal over a plucked melodic synth before dropping back into a DJ Snake-like drop. “Ascension” and “Struggle” follow more of a downtempo trap feel, showcasing different styles of bass in their own way.
If you haven’t been a fan of TastyTreat before, you definitely will after hearing this EP! Buygore hits it on the mark once again with TastyTreat’s Wayward EP.
