Above and Beyond’s Acoustic Tour Touches Down in Chicago!

Barely a week ago I sat on the main floor of the historic Chicago Theater and watched magic be made. Above and Beyond played their first state side acoustic show in Chicago on May 11th and 12th to showcase their brand new album, Acoustic II, which is set to be released this coming June. So far they have released three of the re-imagined and re-recorded songs which you can take a listen to here. But a highlight of the show had to have been during their song Sticky Fingers, which is among the other ten songs not released yet, because of the ending to it. They made it come to life and be given the feeling of a Bond theme song in my eyes.

The Chicago Theater came alive last week when the music filled the venue, people sang along to every word, gave standing ovations, and struggled to keep tears from their eyes especially when the encore was the most anticipated song of the night, Sun and Moon. The feelings that rushed over the entire crowd during that encore were unimaginable. Above and Beyond truly created a musical experience unlike anything i’ve witnessed before. It’s amazing when a photo can capture all those emotions into one and we are lucky enough to showcase a few of the selects from last weeks show which you can view below.

The tour continues on this weekend with three shows in New York City at the Beacon Theater and then off to the west coast for three more in California and the final show taking place in Honolulu. You can find tickets for these shows at the Above and Beyond website.
