It’s been quite awhile since Dutch producer and electro house kingpin Nicky Romero has delighted his audience with a track that isn’t a collaboration or remix. Even though he has given us new music with the help of artists like Nile Rodgers, Stadiumx, and productions on the last NERVO album, the time has finally arrived where we see the first track from Nicky Romero by himself which we last saw with his track “Lighthouse.” It’s great to see one of electronic dance music’s most well known artists return to the fray of music production since his open letter to fans discussing his absence.
But now Nicky Romero springs into musical action with his new track “Novell” bringing back an orchestral sound that he has shown before in songs like “Symphonica”. As the violins and pianos play, a melodic synth takes control of “Novell” and leads this tune into a progressive house drop that the producer/DJ is known for. Even though Nicky Romero has shown an ability to deviate from that sound with new songs like “Future Funk” or his monster anthem “S.O.T.U” with Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Nicky continues to bring new life into an electronic genre of music that we still adore to this day.
