Fasten your seatbelts, and prepare yourself for the journey of a lifetime through time and space, courtesy of the Perth-based production duo, Time Pilot. The up-and-coming pair are the latest artists from the land from down under to make waves in dance music, starting with their debut original, “Zulu,” which was released last year, and quickly rose to claim the top spot on Australia’s viral Spotify charts, thanks to its mix of guttural, tribal bass underlined by elements of future. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Mr. Carmack, as well as their fellow countrymen, What So Not and Flume, the duo of Austin McCrea and Kieran O’Regan are ready to take the next step in their careers with their first release of 2016 – a stunning remix of Kučka’s “Honey.”
At its core, the original version of “Honey” is a captivating, sensual record, as the lead singer, Laura Jane Lowther, drives the track with their strong, ethereal croons, but in true Time Pilot fashoin, McCrea and O’Regan strap “Honey” into a DeLorean and blast it straight into the future. Lowther’s croons set the stage for Time Pilot to flip the track on its head with soaring synths and a dark bassline. This remix is slated to be a part of the three-track remix EP of “Honey,” out now via Midnight Feature.
