If you’re a fan of the vibe artists like Bassnectar and Ill Gates bring to the table, then you’re in for a treat today. Kansas City bass cadet, APLSOZ, is here with a fresh release that’s sure to knock your socks off.
Featuring a low-tempo fusion of dubstep and trap elements, ‘Beatbox the Tentacle’ is pure low-end goodness. An eclectic arrangement of sounds including digitized brass, drippy synth-notes, and syrupy, glitched-out sub-bass is mixed together seemingly without effort and served up on a bed of extra chunky 808 kicks; truly a tasty treat for your earholes. The tune bubbles and froths for a moment, almost without direction, before immediately grabbing the listener and dragging them into a cacophonous cavern of sound. We’ve never been captured by an octopus and given a tour of its garden before, but this could probably be a sonic representation of the experience.
Best of all, APLSOZ has made ‘Beatbox the Tentacle’ a free download. It’s available via West Coast imprint, MalLabel Music, so don’t hesitate to grab a copy if you’re feelin’ the vibes!
