Friday evening, Skrillex and Diplo took to Coachella’s Outdoor Stage to close out event’s first night of festivities. In true Jack Ü fashion, the stage was converted into an enormous, custom Macintosh-era computer, complete with a keyboard, disc drive and monitor. Throughout the length of their hour-long set, the arrangement’s graphics and visuals were centered on the computer screen, paying direct homage to the duo’s noteworthy Internet presence.
During the spectacle, several of the group’s most esteemed friends and collaborators joined them on stage. Kiesza, AlunaGeorge, Post Malone and Kanye West each stepped foot onto the keyboard platform to either perform or, in Kanye’s case, stand stoically and observe the crowd.
The set itself came as an extremely high energy and nonstop mashup, with Skrillex and Diplo regularly trading control of the mixer. In the complete tracklist, found below, four or more songs can be seen to be combined at any one time, leading to what was truly an overwhelming and complex performance.
