For her single “Faking It,” Olivia Noelle called upon four producers to remix and switch up her ethereal original. The fourth and final remix on the package comes from Nikö Blank, taking on a distinctly Flume/Porter Robinson-esque vibe to it.
The sweeping synths are are all too recognizable in future bass, and the short interludes of water droplets or electricity are classic Porter moves. That’s not to say that Nikö Blank isn’t original, no. If anything he’s paying homage to heroes or influences in his career; and to say the least, he’s pulling it off. With a great base song at his disposal and (very clearly) good influences on him, it looks like Nikö Blank has a bright future in music.
