During Miami Music Week, Your EDM learned during an exclusive interview with Martin Garrix that the young producer debuted a brand-new alias during his closing Ultra Music Festival set on the festival’s first night. Dubbed AREA21, the alias finds Garrix pursuing a future bass sound with the lead single “Spaceships,” released on his new record label STMPD RCRDS.
The new track marks one of 40 tracks in Garrix’s new entry of The Martin Garrix Show, a weekly playlist uploaded to Spotify. These tracks represent Garrix’s favorite tracks that he enjoys listening to at home or playing live in concert, and “Spaceships” only scratches the surface of the selections Garrix picks for the new installment. Also included in the playlist are new tracks from the likes of Moderat, Kaytranada featuring Anderson .Paak, Jack Beats, and others, plus classic anthems from the likes of Armand van Helden and even Garrix’s new song “Now That I’ve Found You” with John & Michel.
