After running a train over Miami Music Week and crushing a slew of guest appearances with 3LAU, Justin Caruso has finally released his highly anticipated remix of Cash Cash’s “Aftershock”.
The track wastes no time building into an emotive ballad with an impeccable vocal performance from the original mix’s Jacquie Lee. Loftily gated leads play against melodic vocal skats, and Caruso’s tempered bassline lends a heartened structure to the entire mix before launching into a dreamy bridge. Supported by a gorgeous arrangement of marimba and polished synths, the ideas explored in “Aftershock” tell a cohesive story throughout the entire three minutes, and our only complaint is that it’s all over far too soon.
Have a listen to Justin Caruso’s latest gem below, and be sure to check out his Miami recap video for an inside look at one of dance music’s rising stars.
