Another day, another new deadmau5 teaser upload on Soundcloud.
This one is called “Rio” and features that characteristic deadmau5 ambient vibe that we love him for. Added vocal chops – something the mau5 hasn’t used much in the past – provide a little depth and variety to the mix beyond the quaint and slightly repetitive chord progression. The track ends before it really has a chance to go anywhere; this would likely serve as a solid intro for any track of Joel’s that he chooses to put out in the future.
We do hear a small snip of synth stabs at the very end, which sound like they could be something in the future house realm. Really though, it’s much too little to tell.
