Spectrem’s Top 5 Exotic Drum And Bass Tunes

Up and coming Australian drum and bass prodigy Spectrem has been steadily climbing the hypothetical musical ladder in recent times. Since his signing to the legendary Technique Recordings label in 2013, he’s not only proven but made an irreplaceable signature into a scene that sometimes lacks versatility in creativity. Time and time again, it’s quite easy to witness an artist pigeon-hole themselves, and compress their talents into one certain style of drum and bass. That however, is not the case for him. Just ahead of his massive new single which includes an entirely exotic two-track release consisting of “Culture” and “Shaolin,” we at Your EDM felt it more than appropriate to have the man himself stop by, and share with us his Top 5 exotic drum and bass songs.

Spectrem’s Top 5 Exotic DNB Tracks:

Chase & Status – No Problem

I still play this track out at sets, the use of tribal drums and an African sounding MC gives it a very unique feel which I can’t get enough of!

Calyx & Teebee – Pure Gold (Ft. Kemo)

I’m a huge fan of sounds which you can’t quite work out, the use of a double bass in the tune is nothing short of perfection.

Etherwood – Spoken (feat Rocky NTI)

I had this tune on repeat during my travels through Japan, Rocky’s smooth voice mixed with beautiful piano chords and a majestic arpeggio, creates a vibe that only a genius such as Etherwood could pull off.

Kove – Melisma

I always thought this tune was very underrated, anyone that can pull off a tune based around obscure vocal shouts is okay by me. Kove yet again shows us his talent for bringing out fresh sounds, sounds which I cannot refuse!

Tremah – Moonlight

I am a sucker for some smooth jazzy vibes,so when I heard this gem from Tremah I had it on repeat for weeks! It’s the tune that comes on when you and your partner turn the lights off at night to “sleep.”
