Heroic has quietly established itself as a top curator of music in the experimental bass music realm dabbling in future bass, trap, trip-hop, and more and with releases three times a week you can always count on Heroic to deliver the best in experimental dance music right to your door. The record label’s newest latest EP, a three track affair by Portland-based producer Ark Patrol, is no different.
While the producer may have dubbed his sound as “soultronica” the first thing that comes to my mind is certainly how eclectic the audio landscapes explored in Hex really are. Ark Patrol uses a wide variety of sounds, samples, and unique melodies to explore diverse musical landscapes like I haven’t heard in quite awhile. Don’t take my word for it though – get lost in his production and contributes from soulful featured vocalists Josh Rubin and Veronika Redd.
