The difference in electronic music between 2009 and now is almost too great to imagine – yet, at its core, the music does remain the same. We still use synthesizers and drums, modulations and distortions, reverb and limiters; the technology now is just a bit more advanced.
Many powerful, robust and durable pillars of dance music have shown their heads in the past 7 years. A-Trak created Fool’s Good, Skrillex created OWSLA, Tiësto created Musical Freedom, and deadmau5 created mau5trap. 
mau5trap is actually nearing its 100th release, and if the latest Instagram post from deadmau5 is anything to go on, it looks like it’s going to be a VIP production of “Strobe,“ which actually just celebrated its own sixth birthday recently.
