Skrillex And Jauz Release Insane Animated Music Video For “SQUAD OUT!” [Watch Here]

Ever since August of last year, when heavy-hitters Skrillex and Jauz teamed up with Fatman Scoop to create “SQUAD OUT!,” the track has been played out at events large and small around the world. Coming as the perfect track to fill the space at either a nightclub or festival track, its strong hold on the dance music circuit has remained constant despite the countless other fantastic release from the two since its inception. Now, seven months later, we’ve finally received its official music video.

Created by Adam Fuchs, the man behind videos for the likes of Flying Lotus, Neon Indian and more, the “SQUAD OUT!” clip comes as a wacky, animated ride through the song’s strange sounds and vocals. Drawn in a similar style to Major Lazer’s well-known image, the animation follows Skrill and Jauz as they’re thrown around a demonic elevator while an elephant-hybrid Fatman Scoop shouts the track’s abrasive hooks. The two are shot with lasers and bounced from planet to planet with looks of terror on their faces, until the ride finally ends.

In a conversation with Red Bull, Fuchs revealed the story behind the video’s core concept.

“When I heard the track, I immediately knew exactly what I wanted to do visually. That rarely happens with any project I work on. The track has so many great melodic elements, it was so much fun conceiving ideas around them. There was this really great moment that happened before starting the video. I woke up from a deep sleep on my couch to a late night talk show on my TV. They were airing a bit that had a fake Skrillex battle rapping with Ben Franklin and I was so exhausted, I didn’t quite know what I was watching. It was one of the weirdest and most confusing things I’ve seen in a long time. I knew at that moment, I had to make something that could be viewed in the same way I saw that skit. I hope I accomplished that.”

Watch the music video below, and experience the raw energy from the track’s initial release once again.
