Rezz Brings Her Dark Techno To San Francisco’s Mezzanine

On Saturday, Rezz will bring her dark and ominous sound to San Francisco’s Mezzanine where she will play alongside LA based producer and DJ, Jauz. The budding Canadian native comes off a string of jam-packed months, highlighted by a main stage set at Holy Ship, and bus tour with her mentor and idol Deadmau5. Unfortunately, the rest of the Mau5trap tour was canceled due to an “illness contracted by the Mau5trap artists while touring together.”

“It’s just so crazy to have toured on a bus with the person who inspired me to create music in the first place. It’s been inspiring and very informative.”

Having played at CRSSD Festival in San Diego this past weekend, Rezz prepares for a slew of intimate club shows along the West Coast before skipping across country for more performances. She adjusts her sets based on the setting of her shows, and adds little more variance to her acts when playing in front of smaller crowds.

“Festival sets I like to include mainly my own music, where as sometimes in smaller clubs I like to switch it up a lot and show people what other music I listen to.”

Her music is a direct reflection of her feelings and sensations, which she thoroughly demonstrates through her powerful and emotionally charged style. She often draws comparisons to techno’s dark prince, Gesaffelstein, due to her slow over-stressed basslines and distorted beats. This niche genre has already captured the attention of many, but Rezz wants to continue widening the reach of her unique sound.

“I just want to continue improving my productions and appeal to broader audiences.”
