Diplo Reveals New Jack Ü Is Coming Around The Time Of Coachella

Diplo’s Major Lazer made history in Cuba this past weekend. Aside from carrying their own roots in Caribbean dancehall music, the trio has made leaps and bounds in popularity worldwide. No place, however, is as close to home, in terms of style, as Cuba. We estimated yesterday, by the size of the crowd, that around 200,000 people were in attendance. That already dwarfed the daily attendance of a festival like EDC Las Vegas. Now, New York Times is estimating that an approximate 450,000 people were in attendance. For reference, that’s nearly the entire population of US cities like New Orleans or Las Vegas.

Diplo also made this third appearance with Charlie Rose (his memorable first was with Skrillex). The two rode around Cuba together and also sat down for a short interview, wherein Diplo stated that new Jack Ü music would be coming very, very soon.

He told Rose, “Before I came down to you, I was sitting on my computer editing some new songs for the Jack Ü project, because we want to put something out around Coachella.” [emphasis our own]

This confirms our earlier report that new Jack Ü was coming, and we’re unbelievable curious as to what we’re going to hear.
