Soulection-endorsed, Japanese producer StarRo has just unveiled his latest original track, this time in the form of a minimal and retro hip hop tune called “Milk.” Chock-full of interesting vocal chops and a smooth, R&B melody, the song comes as one of the most downtempo and chilled releases in StarRo’s recent history.
The track begins with distorted samples from the video game alongside informational vocals about the milk industry. Eventually, 8-bit tones and a simple hip hop beat take center stage, creating a laid back and relaxed atmosphere around the main melody. Suddenly, the lead synth transforms into an explosive, layered sting that ups the energy to new heights. The song recedes back and climbs upwards once more, allowing its full narrative to wash over the listener with newfound meaning.
