Flux Pavilion’s “Emotional” stands as my favorite track from his debut album, Tesla. Likewise, Must Die!’s remix of “Emotional” stands as my favorite remix of the track. But, I don’t know… Virtual Riot just put up a really, really good argument for himself.
The vocals are pitched up just a bit, making them sound a tad more feminine than Matthew Koma’s already crooning voice. The meat of the track is composed of an interesting blend of heavy bass sounds and glitch hop, something I’ve become far too accustomed to not hearing.
One can always look to Virtual Riot for impeccable sound design and composition, and this time is certainly no different. I still think that Must Die!’s interpretation is my favorite, but Virtual Riot is sure to win over a lot of ears with this stunning remix.
