TIDAL Recycles Their CFO And COO On The Heels Of Major Lawsuit

Yesterday, we reported on a $5 million lawsuit facing Deadmau5 and Daft Punk-endorsed streaming service TIDAL, brought upon by Yesh Music regarding the alleged lack of payment for 116 of their client’s songs. Now, TIDAL has made the news once again by firing both their chief financial officer and chief operations officer.

“Tidal has terminated CFO Chris Hart and COO Nils Juell. As Tidal has grown into a global operation serving 46 countries we have moved our accounting and operations team to New York while our technology team and key support staff remain in Oslo.”

This instance doesn’t come as the second or even the third time the company has scrapped high-level players in an attempt to consolidate and improve their business. In 2015, TIDAL fired and replaced two CEOs, and lost several more ranking members after they quit.

Clearly, the streaming service is experiencing a confusing mishmash of drama and uncertainty. With the messy release of Kanye’s new album and a constantly recycling staff, TIDAL is looking less and less appealing as the weeks go on.
