Following on the heels of her Oscar win last night for Best Actress in a Leading Role, we’ve just uncovered a video of actress and musician Brie Larsen – of all things – giving tips on how to properly DJ to a crowd.

Unbeknownst to us, Larsen has had a decade-long career in music in addition to her successful acting career. In October of 2014, she released her album’s first single, “She Said,” that climbed into the top 100 best-selling CD singles in the country for 2005. The album, Finally Out Of P.E., was released the following year and sold 3,500 copies in the United States. Her later work was even featured during the credits of the film Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus.

Aside from her own compositions, it turns out that Larsen has some DJing experience to boot. In a video released in December of last year, she can be seen giving out her own brand of tips and tricks for DJs to effectively work a room. From bringing more records than you think are necessary to making sure you have some well known hits on standby, it quickly becomes clear when viewing that she knows exactly what she’s talking about.

Watch the full video below and go check out her stunning performance in Room.
