Sweater Beats Shares Playlist Ahead Of Avalon Headlining Show

Sweater Beats is one of those artists that you just know is going to have a bright future. Aside from having an absolutely packed stage at HARD Summer last year (while The Glitch Mob was playing main stage, no less), he’s had many prolific originals and remixes that have gained him quite a bit of popularity.

All of this has led to his debut headlining performance at the one, the only Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles tonight. In celebration, he’s put together a short list of five tracks that he loves to play out, with a little explanation for each. Check it out below.

Tickets are still available for his Avalon performance tonight. Get them here.

Aquafina – “This might be my favorite rap track of 2015. My friend Falcons linked up with DMV rappers GoldLink and Chaz French on this one – which is close to my heart because I grew up in the DMV!  The intro is perfect for a set opener too.

Don’t – “Sometimes the simplest music is the best. This song by Bryson Tiller is a good example of how effective a simple beat can be when its well executed.

Still Got It – “Two Fresh are really good friends of mine and right now they’re making some of the best rap beats I’ve ever heard. This song is from their Torch EP (on Mad Decent) that dropped a few months ago. The whole EP is amazing, but on ‘Still Got It’ Joey Purp and Vic Mensa both have amazing verses that make this my favorite track for sure.

Blase – “One of my favorite albums from 2015 was the Ty Dolla $ign album, if you haven’t heard it you definitely should check it out. The combo of Ty’s vocals and LTC’s synth work is a real winner, always fun to play this one out at shows.

Put It Down – “Two of my favorite artists right now are Tokimonsta and Anderson Paak. I love the energy of Paak’s vocals and the beat is super DJ-friendly too. Definitely check out Anderson’s Late Show performance, dude kills it.
