Zedd has become one of the most recognizable faces in electronic music, largely due to his ability to weave EDM within mainstream elements. For Zedd’s latest pop culture endeavor, he’s reimagined a classic song for none other than M&Ms in honor of the candy’s 75-year anniversary.
Zedd reimagined the Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory song “The Candy Man,” which was popularized by Sammy Davis Jr.‘s cover version in 1972. On Zedd’s modern take, Avicii collaborator Aloe Blacc takes reign over the vocals, and they work sufficiently amidst the pop electronic production. Zedd revealed on Twitter that Grey and Joseph Trapanese helped him record the song, and Zedd even posted a teaser of what appears to be a future commercial centered around him interacting with the Yellow M&M character in the studio.
Also huge shoutout to my dawgs @greymusique and @JoeComposer who helped me record this song! 🙌🎉
