Last year at the American Music Awards, Diplo & Skrillex were grabbed by some entertainment interviewers on the red carpet and asked a variety of questions. The bit that perked our ears up the most, however, was when Skrillex noted that there would be a new Jack Ü EP in early 2016.
Well, two months into 2016 and still nary a peep… until now.
EDM Tunes points out that HM Mastering regularly does work for OWSLA, and now it seems that a new Jack Ü project is on the docket. Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean that we’re going to see a new Jack Ü piece in the next week, or even the next month.
A similar situation developed in 2015 when Stuart Hawkes began mastering on the Nero album, Between II Worlds. In that case, it was another eight months until we finally saw the album drop. And with more than one project on deck for HM Mastering, we have no idea what might come first as a priority.
