It’s like watching a tightly wound rubber band ball sit out in the sun until the rubber finally decomposes enough to start unraveling, breaking apart violently at the weakest points, until it’s completely laid bare and showing a dark, dingy core. Kanye West’s descent into madness since the “release” of his album The Life Of Pablo has been well-documented from nearly every source imaginable. Everyone wants a piece of that Kanye traffic, whether it’s speculation or sincere vindication and compassion.
However, Kanye makes it really hard to like him when he pulls shit like this at 1Oak in Los Angeles.
Kanye. We want to like you. Seriously, we don’t want to have to vilify you, it’s not exactly the brightest part of our day. However, when you spew lies and bullsh*t like this, it’s hard to give you the benefit of the doubt. The scene captured on video from last night depicts a noticeably unstable Kanye.
“I called Taylor. I played her. I told her, I said, ‘Taylor, I talked to my wife about it.’ I said, ‘How do you feel about this line, Taylor?’ I was like, ‘Taylor, I feel like me and you might still have sex.’ She said, ‘Ooh, Kanye, I like that line.’ Then she won her award and said something completely different.”
“She not cool no more. She had two seconds to be cool, and she f—ed it up,” Kanye said. He also refuted claims that he ever had fingers up his ass, which the crowd seemed to revel in.
This whole public display of lunacy is entertaining in the moment, but looking back on it the night after, one has to wonder if we aren’t witnessing the actual mental unraveling of one of the most prolific artists in the current era.
For what it’s worth, Kanye did premiere a new song from TLOP (which is still being added to) at the nightclub.
