In celebration of reaching 20,000 followers on his Soundcloud account, producer Lege Kale has just uploaded his latest remix, this time in the form of a soulful, laid back rendition of Yeek‘s “The Drums” with brass additions courtesy of Ny Odus. With a smooth rhythm and mesmerizing instrumentals, the track comes as the ideal swayer for the weekend. It’s currently up for free download here.
The track begins with a series of plucks and a peek at the following horn inclusions. Soon, the tempo emerges and slowly builds upwards until Yeek’s vocals take over the spotlight. A consistent and warm kick drum leads the percussion section, while light shakers fill in the spaces above the brass’s licks and phrases. The drums are introduced and removed throughout the length of the track, allowing the instruments room to shine alongside the vocals.
