If there existed any remaining doubt about the uniting and loving power of EDM, it has officially been removed today. In a heartfelt and selfless motion, several high-ranking members of the dance music community have come together to create a video in support of 25 year old Elizabeth Yuri Munive, a dedicated EDM fan who was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2009.
After hearing about Yuri’s struggle with her disease, DJ/producer Christo 3lektric decided to do something incredible. With the help of his friends and associates at Studio DMI, in addition to Yuri’s friends Victor and Andrea, he created a video tribute to Yuri with personal clips from some of EDM’s biggest contributors as a way to connect with her face-to-face, wish her well, and raise awareness so that her GoFundMe would reach a wider base of supporters. Yuri’s friend created the donation page in order to assist her mother in handling Yuri’s medical bills.

In the video, Steve Aoki, Diplo, TJR, Borgeous, Morgan Page, Christo 3lektric himself and many more stop in to say hello to Yuri and pledge their support in aiding her ongoing battle. As a bonus, Christo and DJ Veaux completed production on the video’s soundtrack song, “Invincible,” as a further testament to her bravery. It will be released soon, with a portion of the proceeds being donated directly into her fund.

Our friend Elizabeth Yuri Munive, 25 years old, has been battling Leukemia since 2009. Yuri was not prepared to face challenge such as this. While many of us at this age are either attending college, working, or thinking about our future plans; Yuri was not prepared for such an obstacle. Nonetheless, she has fought hard every step of the way!
Yuri is such a beautiful, genuine, kind-hearted and brave young woman. We admire her attitude towards this journey in fighting off Leukemia. Although it has not been easy, she has always managed to keep a positive attitude with a smile on her face.
For those who may not know, acute Leukemia is known to be cancer of the blood cells. It starts in the bone marrow, where the blood cells are developed. When Leukemia develops, the body produces large numbers of abnormal blood cells. In acute Leukemia, the abnormal blood cells are blasts that remain immature and cannot be carried out to their normal function. The treatment procedure involves months of chemotherapy and radiation, which kills off your healthy cells as well causing extreme fatigue, nausea, and other severe side effects. Despite the constant hospital visits and months in the hospital, Yuri was able to fight off cancer! She was about to hit the five-year mark, when we heard she had relapsed. In 2014, she was sent to the UVA Medical Center to start a new experimental treatment that proved to be a success until the cancer came back. Now, her mother is seeking help from other experts to help Yuri! We ask you to please help our friend Yuri as she continues to fight!
The money will be going towards helping her mom with the medical expenses, so any donation big or small will be appreciated. We pray for Yuri to get well soon!
