Your EDM Premiere: Gydra – Nailsbucket [Blackout]

To no one’s surprise, our favorite dark drum and bass label has been revived with the next installment of their Evolution EP series, Volume 2. Featuring five tracks of blistering magnitude, when granted the opportunity to premiere one, I immediately jumped on board upon my first listen of “Nailsbucket.” Neurofunk veterans Gydra have established a standard in the world of tech bass lines, and have shown no signs of slowing down the mechanism of which they’ve already reached the forefront.

Seemingly enough, although the entire release has Blackout’s signature mastery pasted to its roots, this trio has truly outdone themselves with this beast of a creation. Beginning with ominously chopped synth progression and firmly aligned high end, aggressively planted kicks bridge the malicious risers directly into the onslaught we call the drop. Not often am I screw-faced to this extent, but this song is a worthy exception. Through full-time drum patterns and paralleled mid-range bass lines, each dynamic punches through like a hell-driven jackhammer.

Luckily for all of us, this release is due for public purchase on February 12th on Beatport. Don’t sleep on this. Trust me.
