It wasn’t too long ago that Soundcloud introduced a charts feature to their desktop service, giving producers another platform on which to laud their tunes for reaching #1. As Soundcloud moves forward into 2016, with a new label deal with Universal Music, and millions of dollars in emergency debt funding, the German/Swedish initiative continues to push forward and catch up with many other streaming services.
Though Soundcloud routinely attracts more individual listeners than other streaming platforms, its services on mobile are still severely lacking. In order to combat that, Soundcloud has introduced ‘Stations’ to its iOS and Android apps. The service acts much like Related Tracks on the desktop site, allowing users to frame and select various starting points and Soundcloud will build a “station” to suit your tastes.
If you’ve already got the SoundCloud app installed, the update is available to you now. If you haven’t got it installed, it can be found in the iOS App Store or on Google Play.
