Ableton Introduces ‘Link,’ Will Revolutionize Mobile/Standard Production

Ableton has long ago established itself as a leader in production technologies. With its state of the art and widely used DAW, the company has embedded itself in electronic music just about as much as Pioneer or Sennheiser. It should only make sense then that one of the leading companies debuts a new, stunning piece of R&D called ‘Link.’

The beauty of ‘Link’ comes in its namesake: linking devices. It states on the Link splash page that “Link is a technology that keeps devices in time over a wireless network, so you can forget the hassle of setting up and focus on playing music.” This means that you can set up a basic chord progression or loop on a mobile device, sync it into your DAW, and be able to play in time effortlessly over a wireless network. A similar ‘sync’ has already been made available between Traktor and Ableton, but this goes so much further.

Watch the trailer below for a brief demonstration, and visit their website for more information.

‘Link’ comes as a built-in component of Live 9.6, and will be available on Windows/Mac computers and select iOS apps.
