At its core, electronic dance music is all about love and acceptance. We know that, you know that, and the folks at Guinness World Records know it, too. From Hardwell striving to set the record for biggest attendance at a solo DJ performance, Dada Life hosting the largest gathering of people dressed as fruit, to Electric Forest attempting the world’s largest group hug, the dance community has come together with some pretty rad ideas. Here are 7 world records that have been set by the fans and artists of electronic dance music.
1) Most Vocal Edits In One Song – BT (2015)
BT broke his own record for Most Vocal Edits In A Song, with Electronic Opus’ rework of “Simply Being Loved.” It incorporates over 10,000 vocal edits, which is over 4,000 more than his 2003 version.
2) Most High Fives In One Hour – Squish (2015)
Thanks to Bonnaroo Music Festival, a seven-year-old named Squish holds the title for most high fives in one hour. The kid scored 2,392 high fives while at the festival’s 2015 edition. Scope the video below to hear how the boy wonder celebrated…

3) Longest Marathon Club DJing – Norberto Loco (2015)
Can you imagine partying non-stop, team no sleep style for almost eight and a half days? Norberto Loco is the only man to have ventured to such dance floor depths and returned to tell the tale. Starting November 27th, 2014, Loco charged a club for over 200 hours, and it was verified in 2015 that he can officially claim the title of Longest Marathon DJ Set. (We never doubted him for a second, just scope that title belt.)
4) Most Top Ten Hits From One Album – Calvin Harris (2014)
Of the 15 tracks on Calvin Harris’ breakout LP 18 Months, nine of the songs went on to claim top ten spots on the UK Singles chart. As a result, the Scottish producer knocked out Michael Jackson to take the new Guinness World Record of Most Top Ten Hits From One Album.
5) Most People Twerking Simultaneously – Big Freedia (2013)
In 2013, the Queen of Bounce, Big Freedia, led over 300 people in twerking for two minutes straight. Watch the bodacious clip below, but we hope they didn’t all have to suffer through that loop for an entire 120 seconds…
6) Longest Cheer/Most Glow Sticks Lit Simultaneously – Steve Aoki (2013)
In 2013, Ozzy Ozbourne’s World Record of Longest Cheer was broken by Steve Aoki’s crowd at LA’s Shrine Auditorium. Over two minutes of continuous screaming is the new feat to beat, and in the same night, the crowd helped break the record for most glow sticks lit simultaneously.
7) Largest Pillow Fight – Dada Life (2013)
Dada Life is an endless well of good vibes, and on October 26th, 2013 they immortalized their shenanigans in the Guinness Book of World Records when 3,813 fans took part in the World’s Largest Pillow Fight at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom. The record has since been broken, but let’s hope they’re up for round two…
