Tame Impala took 2015 by storm with their album Currents, and their massive single, “Let It Happen.” The psychedelic rock was perfect for stadium tours and festival appearances, and the six piece band certainly capitalized on every opportunity they were given.
Tinlicker is similarly looking to take 2016 by storm, so it’s fitting that they drop this mindbending edit to the track of 2015. Subtle vocal samples sit playfully beneath the oscillating bass notes and hypnotizing beat pattern. Kevin Parker’s vocals are untouched in the bridge, as they should be.
The track makes it way back into that familiar beat until the very end, something we have no issue with whatsoever.
