Martin Shkreli would likely be the most hated man in America right now if Donald Trump wasn’t also running for president right now. But with this latest antic, he might actually attract the ire of a group of people that we never thought possible.
Of course, he already attracted great anger when he, of all people, purchased Wu-Tang Clan’s one-of-a-kind Once Upon a Time in Shaolin. But now, with a prison sentence looming overhead, he just doesn’t give a shit anymore. The subject of a new feature on Vice, Shkreli reportedly “vacillates between wanting to destroy the record and dreaming of installing it in some remote place so that people have to make a spiritual quest to listen.”
“I’m not just the heel of the music world,” he told Vice. “I want to be the world’s heel.”
A “heel” refers to “an actor assuming the part of the bad guy, who is designated to piss off the audience.” So… he’s doing a great job.
