I am all for remixes of my favorite classic club songs, especially ones that rarely get attention in throwback sets. This time it’s “Silence,” the massive late 90s hit from Delerium ft. Sarah McLachlan. The song was remixed a few times right after it came out, most famously by Tiesto as an “In Search of Sunrise Remix,” but it remained relatively untouched except for a revival in 2004 by Above & Beyond and Michael Woods and another in 2009 by Thomas Gold and Niels van Gogh. Based on the recent popularity of “Show Me Love” and other 90s club hits, it was only a matter of time until “Silence” came back into the spotlight, but I didn’t expect it to get a makeover from GT & Wildfire, who remixed up and comers Sunset Child . This downtempo house version is much more digestable for 2016 than the uplifting trance remixes that had European megaclubs going crazy decades ago. If you’re not quite sure you remember this iconic tune, listen below and try not to freak out when you realize it’s one of your favorites way back when.
