Time flies in the EDM world. Trends come and go, genres adapt and change, and artists do their best to keep up with the rapid pace of the industry. Some aspects remain universal, such as hit tracks that evoke feelings of nostalgia. In 2012, EDM just began to boom in the United States, and a young Dutch producer released a single that would go on to define EDM’s growth both in America and around the world.
Today, Hardwell‘s hit track “Spaceman” turns 4. Hardwell released the track on January 23, 2012 on his own Revealed Recordings record label, and he went to perform on the main stages of festivals such as Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, and more the same year. “Spaceman” became one of the biggest hits of the year, and in 2013, the track helped inspire the rise of trap due to a remix from Carnage. Even four years later, “Spaceman” still receives elated responses from crowds across the globe.
