Deeper forms of house music have begun to infect the EDM consciousness in America, and a lot of inspiration has come from Europe’s unequivocal love for the genres. European festivals devoted to deep house, techno, and tech house have been around for years, and one such event in The Netherlands sets the bar year after year. That event is Awakenings Festival, and in 2016 the festival celebrates its 16th edition with a massive lineup.
Set to take place on June 25 and 26, Awakenings assembles a great mixture of deeper acts, tech house masters, and techno sensations across eight stages. On day one, Adam Beyer, Maceo Plex, Bicep, Nina Kraviz, and more will perform, and on day two attendees will see sets from the likes of Richie Hawtin, Maya Jane Coles, The Martinez Brothers, and more. Many acts perform sets on both days, easing up potential schedule conflicts.
