Pioneer Wants To Make The Perfect CDJs For Touring

The annual NAMM Show, run by the National Association of Music Merchants, is the prime location to find out about new audio technology and equipment. Much like how CES is for electronics in general, and E3 is all about gaming, NAMM makes its mark on the music industry each and every year.

One of the biggest companies in DJ music technology is undoubtedly Pioneer, which supplies their CDJ and DJM tech to nearly every proper club in the US. It hasn’t even been two weeks since they debuted their line of NXS2 gear, and Pioneer is already looking to the next big thing.

According to DJ Tech Tools, Pioneer is showing a prototype model called the “Tour” which acts as a heavy-duty variant of their usual CDJ and DJM models. The new tech includes a large screen separate from the small touch screen on the device itself, and it works seamlessly with Rekordbox to show multiple decks at once.

No word yet on when this model will go on sale, or how much it will retail for, but it’s not likely something that a touring DJ alone would use. Look for these to be house gear at various high-end clubs like the ones in Vegas or Miami, or at festivals like EDC and Ultra.
