Detroit, a city that helped birth techno, hosts one of the best electronic music festivals in not only the United States, but in the world as well. This year, Movement Electronic Music Festival celebrates its ten-year anniversary in Detroit, and event organizers announced a whopping phase one lineup for the upcoming festival to ramp up the excitement.
Set to take place over Memorial Day Weekend on May 28-30, 2016, Movement snagged the legendary Kraftwerk as the headliner, a fitting gesture given the festival’s decade-spanning celebration. Techno is present in full-force on the lineup, with DJs and producers such as Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson, Richie Hawtin, and more receiving top billing. Movement also booked a couple of unique live acts, including Four Tet, Caribou, Boys Noize, Project 313, and more. This reveal only marks the first of multiple phases for Movement, so keep your eyes peeled for more announcements from the Movement camp.
