UPDATE 4:45PM | The original source claiming that Miguel Flores blamed Steve Aoki for any wrongdoing is false and was fabricated by the magazine. We apologize for the error.
It’s taken almost four years for victims of a deadly holiday party in Spain to get justice, but better late than never. On November 1, 2012, five women were trampled to death during a Halloween party at the Madrid Arena in Spain. A sound malfunction temporarily halted the event, headlined by Steve Aoki, which created a stampede once a rush of patrons couldn’t fit through the limited amount of emergency exits.
Spanish newspaper El Pais initially reported on the event, as well as the ensuing investigation into the incident. Now, after more than a week of trial procedures that began on January 12, 15 individuals have been indicted for their various roles, including promoter Miguel Angel Flores.
