The story behind the artist known as OMFG is an interesting one.
In November of 2014, the artist OMFG posted a track on Soundcloud called “Hello” that quite immediately sparked interest from most corners of the EDM community – whether that interest was positive or negative was up to the listener. However, the track soared to popularity, and without any kind of noticeable budget behind the track, it is now sitting comfortably at nearly 6 million streams.
In December of 2014, OMFG pitched the track to the popular YouTube channel MrSuicideSheep. This would be the beginning of a relationship that would end, recently, with OMFG pulling various tracks from the channel for alleged copyright infringement.

The unfortunate state of the situation that the two parties find themselves in seems like it could have been avoided. As Sheep states, “she could have easily reached out and had a discussion if she felt she was being wronged.” Though, Sheep bears no ill will toward OMFG.
The rest of the story surrounding OMFG could be one of the larger conspiracies in the small EDM communities of reddit, Monstercat and beyond. Many claim that OMFG is ghost produced by another bedroom producer, and various pieces of “evidence” have been found to support this assertion; however, at this point, there is no definitive evidence to suggest that OMFG is not producing her own music.
