The UK-based BRIT Awards have just unveiled their complete list of nominations for this year’s installment, which can be found in full on their official page. Despite having no electronic music winners during last year’s show, 2016 is looking to be far more promising on the dance music front.
For starters, Calvin Harris, Aphex Twin and Jamie XX are all nominated in the British Male Solo Artist category. Occupying three of the five possible spots, it’s very likely we’ll see an electronic musician take the title at the awards on February 24th.
Calvin’s collaborative track with Disciples “How Deep Is Your Love” sees two nominations in the British Single and British Artist Video categories. Jamie XX’s In Colour will be placed alongside those like Adele and Florence and the Machine in the British Album of the Year section. Finally, Major Lazer will represent EDM in the International Group category.
