LA-based artist Convex just dropped a MASSIVE new remix, teaming up with friends Crystalize and Fransis Derelle in a three-way collaboration that’s one for the books. They’ve taken NGHTMRE and Boombox Cartel‘s “Aftershock,” adding their own personal touches while still maintaining the melodic-yet-aggressive feel of the original.
The track starts off with some light percussion work, doing away with the original’s pianos in favor of a darker, simpler sound. Things continue with the addition of a slowly pulsing background synth, which helps brightens the mix a bit before dropping into some stunning future-bass. True to NGHTMRE and Boombox Cartel’s original, this remix quickly turns things up, transitioning to a bass-heavy trap sound in a matter of seconds. The interlude brings the atmospheric feel from the intro back, offering a small break before the guys decide to switch things up again. The final drop slows things down with an aggressive Jersey-esque vibe that perfectly maintains the track’s hype, earning this remix a spot as one of the best “Aftershock” remixes around.
