As of a couple of days ago, I’ve been sitting on this remix, waiting for the chance to premiere it, for a whole month. Think about the agony of having a track you love, and you want to share it with everyone, but you can’t – for a whole month. This premiere is the equivalent of passing a kidney stone for me, except far less painful.
LIONE did an absolutely incredible job of deconstructing and transforming the already brilliantly uplifting “Bodyache” by Purity Ring, off their newest album, Another Eternity. Megan James’s vocals are already so perfect, I’m happy that LIONE did nothing to modify them. Instead, he focused on the powerful future bass tones that permeate this remix. It takes on Porter Robinson-esque qualities at times, but overall, this is one hell of an original, unique sound.
