Tour date leaks probably rank as one of the biggest banes of artist’s and promoter’s existences, as they often reveal events that haven’t even been formally announced. The latest tour date blunder comes from Gorgon City (a regular in leaking out appearances beforehand), who posted three unannounced DJ sets scheduled to take place in India in February. The more interesting note comes from the event tied to those DJ sets: Diplo‘s Mad Decent Block Party.
A regular fixture in America the past few years, the Mad Decent Block Party may be coming to India in a month. Gorgon City’s listings have since been removed, but The Bangin Beats managed to catch a screenshot of the leaked dates, which you can view below:
A MDBP event in India makes perfect sense for multiple reasons, chiefly because the country has become one of the fastest growing EDM markets in the world. With the likes of deadmau5, Skrillex, Hardwell and others playing the country, MDBP’s venture to cities like Mumbai seems like a natural progression for the music festival. Diplo also gives the country a lot of love, even filming the now 1 billion+ viewed music video to “Lean On” while in-between Major Lazer tour dates. An official announcement has yet to be made, but the evidence suggests MDBP will soon make its way to India.
A representative from Mad Decent states they do not have a comment at this time.
