Axwell Λ Ingrosso are putting out single after single, but what about releases from their numerous label signees? Axwell’s label Axtone in particular continually releases great singles, and one of the best artists on that roster is NEW_ID. It’s been two months since the release of his previous remix “CamelPhat,” and today he partners with Your EDM to unveil a free download of his new edit.
NEW_ID revisits the 2010 Armand Van Helden remix of the Uffie track “ADD SUV” featuring Pharrell Williams for this edit. Premiered by Kryder on his Kryteria radio show and then played by Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1, the edit epitomizes the energy and and cements NEW_ID as a dynamo for the progressive house. A gripping bassline kicks off the track, and ever-building synths and a quick appearance from Uffie come into play as the track drops into pure house pandemonium. A funky break in the drop steers the listener for a brief few seconds before building all over again. It’s no wonder Danny Howard unveiled this remix on BBC Radio 1. NEW_ID even provided a few words on his inspiration behind the edit:
‘I rediscovered Armand van Helden’s amazing remix and had to make an edit to fit my sets! Kryder and Danny Howard heard it during the Amsterdam Dance Event and shortly after hit me up for it.’
