3 Reasons Decadence is the Place to be This New Years

Born and raised in the North East, I am surrounded by some of the world’s best New Years Eve parties: Manhattan clubs, Brooklyn warehouses, even Times Square celebrations.  After ringing in 2015 at Madison Square Garden with Jack Ü, one may wonder why I would venture across the country leaving the hustle and bustle of a crazy NYE in the The Big Apple to welcome 2016. The reason? Decadence.

For its 5th year, Global Dance, AEG, and Live Nation is transforming the Colorado Convention Center into a world of Decadence. Since its inception, dance music fans from around the country have heard of Decadence’s insane lineups, intense production, and lavish decorations.

Here are the 3 main reasons Decadence is definitely the place to be this New Years Eve:

1. The Lineup: Every single name on the Decadence lineup is easily recognized as top talent in their genre; in fact, most are recognized as top tier artists in the entire dance music industry. Good luck contemplating your list of artists to see – with names like Bassnectar, Jack Ü, Gramatik, and deadmau5, you’re going to want to catch ’em all.

In addition to the larger names like Excision, Hardwell, ODESZA, and Galantis, Decadence perfected picking support from rising artists to watch in 2016. Black Tiger Sex Machine, Jai Wolf, Matthew Koma, and Illenium all had massive years, are known to play incredible sets, and are definitely artists you should keep your eyes on.

Plus, I hear there’s going to be a Silent Disco?!

2. The production. If there’s one other thing Decadence noobs know about the event besides its massive lineups, it’s that Decadence doesn’t skimp on the production or decor. With beautiful performers and exquisite installations, fans can expect world-class visual excitement to accompany their sonic journeys into the New Year.

3. Denver is the raver’s mecca. You’ve all seen that meme, right? The progression of the modern rave girl. Step 5: Move to Colorado. With famous clubs and venues like Red Rocks and Beta Nightclub, plus its immense bar scene and legal goodies, it’s not hard to see why Denver is the perfect host for a dance music getaway. While Red Rocks may not be open for concerts in the winter months, out-of-towners can take that time to explore Red Rocks by day, hike the nearby mountains, ski, or just relax in a cabin, pump up the tunes, and drink whiskey (as this East coaster will be doing).

Is it December 30th, yet?
