After seemingly endless months of fresh singles, EPs and album releases, 2015 is finally coming to a close. This means it’s about the time that all our favorite DJs drop their “end of the year” mixes for us to enjoy and reflect on the musical year. Among these are most notably Dzeko & Torres‘ “20** in 10 Minutes” series and DJ Earworm‘s yearly “United State of Pop” mashup.
However, one yearly mix seems to always trump them all: Vicetone‘s “End of Year” mix series. After their first attempt in 2013 absolutely took off on Proximity, they couldn’t help but return again in 2014 to please fans once again. The mixes are now among Proximity’s most viewed videos, now sporting 6 million and 5 million plays, respectively. Arguably the duo’s most popular work, the mixes always manage to grab some serious attention from fans and foes alike.
With the 2015 edition of the series, Vicetone has made some serious changes to their structure. This most notably comes with the inclusion of 3 brand new IDs, something the duo has never done previously. The mix also pays high attention to new material, featuring originals, remixes and mashups that have derived only from 2015. This includes their upcoming Spinnin’ Records release “Pitch Black.”
